We all have a T-shirt that we just can't part with because of its sentimental value. Our pillows measure 12x12 or 16x16.   The t-shirt pillowcover has a zipper for easy removal and washing. 

Shams can be made in standard, queen or king sizes and require 4-6 tees.  The size of the logo will reduce/increase the amount of tees needed.
